PEF partners participate in Natural Products Expo East
The growing global market demand for organic and natural products is steadily increasing with a growth rate of 5-15% per annum depending on the product category and export markets. Recognizing this vast potential, particularly for the farmer sector, Peace and Equity Foundation, Inc. in partnership with the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) leads the Philippines' participation in the Natural Products Expo East from September 15 to 18, 2005 at the Washington Convention Center, Washington DC, USA.
Offered in the exibit is a harvest of naural, organically grown farm products painstakingly cultivated by community-based enterprises and farmers' organizations that espouse ecologically sustainable farming methods.
Three PEF community partner products and two Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) One Town One Product (OTOP) program sites from Kalinga (coffee) and Oriental Mindoro (virgin coconut oil) will be exhibited. The Philippine participation is organized by CITEM, an export promotions agency of the DTI.
