PEF-FSSI-FPE join forces for local development

FSSI (Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc.) and FPE (Foundation for the Philippine Environment) in their common desire to explore inter-institutional cooperation to optimize resources and create greater impact, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last January 15, 2008 to implement a program in Roxas, Palawan called “Catalyzing Investment for Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development”.

The project intends to directly support seven priority barangays in Roxas under the strategic area development plan of the local program partner, an independent loose network of local stakeholders, in congruence with the municipal development plan “Barangay Bayanihan” of the local government. PEF, FSSI and FPE commit to contribute P 2 million pesos as direct project funding for a two-year pilot phase.

Formalizing the MOU are the Executive Directors of the three institutions from left: Ms. Emma Lim-Sandrino (FSSI), Ms. Veronica F. Villavicencio (PEF) and Ms. Christine F. Reyes (FPE). Venue: FPE Office, 77 Matahimik, Teachers’ Village, Quezon City.
