PEF-SURE campaign for Renewable Energy

PEF and Solutions Using Renewable Energy (SURE),a renewable energy (RE) company providing services in developing sustainable RE solutions, will undertake POVERTY ALLEVIATION using SOLAR (PALS) PROGRAM. PALS is an initiative that will use solar lanterns to energize a total of 30,000 homes for the period 2008 to 2010. The program will have a nationwide coverage, but will focus on building up on the existing networks of SURE and PEF. For 2008, the program hopes to cover 10,000 homes in the provinces of Palawan, Negros Occidental, Masbate, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Cagayan, Kalinga, Sorsogon and Camarines Norte.

SURE, a supplier of the SUNLITE Solar Lanterns manufactured by Ammini Solar India Ltd., will take the lead in marketing its solar products to the target beneficiaries. It will be primarily undertaking the establishment of dealer networks, after sales service support, replacement of parts under warranty and documentation requirements for claiming of RPP subsidy, if applicable.

PEF, on the other hand, will take the lead in presenting the program to its Partnership and Access Centers (PACs) and solicit financing proposals under the program. It will structure the loan package to the PACs based on its guidelines under the existing program for renewable energy projects.
